About the event

Story telling is an important part of learning. At this hands-on workshop you will learn all about CRANKIES* – an old storytelling art form. Crankies are a wonderful way to combine storytelling, art and creativity and ArtsJunktion with all its amazing treasures is the perfect place to make one. Come and join Leonard Podolak, Winnipeg musician and director of Winnipeg’s first Crankie Festival for an amazing day. You will create your own crankie and collect materials and ideas to take back to your classroom. (Suitable for grades 3 and up)

Leonard Podolak, the executive director of Home Routes is a Winnipeg musician, a member of the Duhks band, a “banjo virtuoso” and the executive director of Winnipeg’s first Crankie Festival.
