About the event

Join us at Artsjunktion for a very special workshop making Dreamcatchers with Artsjunktion superstar, Margaret!

Dreamcatcher making is a traditional Indigenous art form that originated with the Anishinaabe (Ojibwe) people and has been shared among many Indigenous communities over time. Traditionally, dreamcatchers were handcrafted using natural materials such as willow hoops, sinew, beads, and feathers. They were created to hang above sleeping areas, where the woven web was believed to catch bad dreams while allowing good dreams to pass through.

Today, dreamcatcher making is both a cultural practice and a creative art form. Many people enjoy learning how to make dreamcatchers as a way to express creativity, connect with tradition, and create meaningful handmade pieces. Designs can range from traditional styles to modern interpretations using various colors, beads, feathers, and decorative materials.

We are located at 594 Main St. (the old Neon Factory!) between Logan Ave. and Alexander Ave.
