About the event
This workshop is a great opportunity for Middle Years classroom teachers to plan their painting program for the New Year! Using animals as a theme, instructor and artist Cori Jaye will take you through a series of step-by-step activities guaranteed to help you and your students feel more confident about painting. The day will include drawing strategies, colour theory, and painting techniques. Everyone will go home with an original painting on canvas board. Come and join us in our bright, new workshop space. Bring a camera and you will have lots of samples to show your students. (Suitable for generalist teachers - Grades 4 to 8)
Cori Jaye was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She attended the Ontario College of Art and graduated in Graphic Design from Red River College. This year Cori Jaye is thrilled to be exhibiting at the Assiniboine Park Pavilion Gallery. Her show entitled “Mystical Furry Friends” opened May 20th 2018 and features paintings that follow the daily adventures of the animals in the park.
